Police search for missing Iowa businesswoman

WASHINGTON, Iowa (AP) — Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating a 45-year-old Iowa businesswoman who is missing.

Washington County Sheriff’s Department said Friday that Sharon Ruth Hopf of Crawfordsville did not show up for work Thursday at a home furnishings company she owns in Kalona.

The department says she was last seen at a gas station in Washington at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, and was driving a 1999 white Chevy Lumina with the Iowa license plate 419WXF.

Investigators say anyone with information regarding her whereabouts should call the department.

Her company, Hopf Home Furnishings, carries an array of furniture and bedding and has stores in Coralville and Kalona. She’s listed as the co-owner on its website.
