Police seize 35 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammo from Dodge County home

Law enforcement officers seized 35 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition during a search of a Dodge County home Wednesday morning, Dodge County officials said.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a search warrant at N3315 County Road J Wednesday around 6 a.m. as part of a long-term investigation into the purchasing and possession of firearms by people who are not allowed to possess a firearm, according to a release.

Officers from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also found suspected drugs in the home.

Kirk Lupton, 56, was arrested and tentatively charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the release. Richard Nutter, 34, was arrested on a probation violation.

As a precaution, the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad was called to the scene to investigate a device found in the home that was determined to be inert, officials said.
