Police shoot, kill man in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay man has been shot and killed by police after authorities say he pointed a gun at officers outside a local tavern.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports officers were called about 12:45 a.m. Sunday to Packer Stadium Lounge for reports of a man shooting a gun outside.

Police Capt. Jim Runge says the 35-year-old man refused to put down his semiautomatic pistol and had pointed it at officers, so officers fired.

Officers administered first aid while they awaited emergency responders, but the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police are investigating in the incident.
