Poll workers needed across Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – The need for poll workers continues across Wisconsin.

The fall election is just 19 days away and as of Thursday 51 municipalities across the state are seeing a shortage of workers at the polls.

In western Wisconsin, the town of Bridgeport in Crawford County needs assistance.

That’s according to the Wisconsin Election Commission.

A list of communities in need for support is available on the MyVote WI website.

National Guard members in the state have not been ordered to help at poll locations yet.

The amount of elections this year already is helping local election officials be ready for November.

“They have had a lot of practice being able to run an election under these new conditions. With the new volume of absentees, with a new volume of in-person voters, they’re adjusted,” said Meagan Wolfe, Wisconsin’s chief election official.
