Possible enterovirus cases suspected in La Crosse

CDC testing samples, results in about a week

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — There have been multiple suspected cases of the rare Enterovirus in Wisconsin, including here in La Crosse but nothing is confirmed at this time.

Samples of those cases are being tested by the CDC. They should be confirmed in about a week.

The respiratory and stomach virus has hospitalized hundreds of children around the country.

Twelve states have confirmed cases but so far there are none in Wisconsin or Minnesota. Some regional hospitals have reported an uptick in respiratory illnesses recently though.

There are no reported deaths from the enterovirus.
