Pre-council meeting prayer discussion in Onalaska
ONALASKA, Wis. — Next week the full Onalaska city council takes up the issue of whether to start meetings with a prayer. But based on a meeting of the city’s Administrative and Judiciary Committee Wednesday night, the idea doesn’t have much support.
Several residents attending the meeting stood up to say they oppose starting council meetings with a prayer. Two of the three committee members agreed.
Despite that, they voted to forward the issue on to the full council, but without the recommendation of the committee.
The full council is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Feb. 12.
