Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders to stop in Decorah
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A presidential hopeful is visiting counties in Iowa that flipped for President Trump in 2016, that includes Winneshiek County. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is holding a rally at Luther College in Decorah Monday.
On Saturday, the independent U.S. Senator said he would eliminate all past-due medical debt if elected president, totaling an estimated 81 billion dollars.
The two-time presidential candidate plans to highlight his health care plans and economic issues.
Sanders also plans on holding rallies on Monday in Northwood, Dubuque, Clinton, West Liberty and Burlington, Iowa.
Doors open at noon, with the town hall starting at 1 p.m. News 8 will be there and have a report on the rally tomorrow.
