Presidential recount to begin later in La Crosse County

Wisconsin Elections Commission set Thursday as beginning of Presidential recount

Wisconsin’s Presidential Recount is set to begin Thursday, but the La Crosse County Clerk’s office says they may not be ready by then.

County clerks are busy counting the nearly 90,000 ballots cast in Wisconsin’s 32nd District Senate Seat. Clerks originally estimated the 32nd District recount to take about a week, meaning it will not be completed before the Presidential recount begins.

“The soonest we’ll be done is Friday, and the 32nd Senate District was called first, so we’re going to finish this recount. When we’re done with this recount then we’ll immediately start the Presidential recount,” said La Crosse County Clerk Ginny Dankmeyer.

The La Crosse County Clerk’s office hopes to begin the Presidential recount by Monday.
