Pride in the Park celebrates diversity and acceptance
Event held at Cameron Park for the first time
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Cameron Park was full of PRIDE this weekend.
7 Rivers LGBTQ community held a Pride in the Park event. The free, family-friendly event featured a variety of food and entertainment, as well as about local vendors.
It’s the first time the even has been held at Cameron Park, which is right down the street from the new 7 Rivers LGBTQ location, known as The Center.
Organizers wanted the pride in the park even to be a place where people come together. “It’s just a day to allow people to come out and have a good time and now worry about being judged, not worry about having somebody hate them in that moment and just be around other people that are similar,” said Jackson Jantzen from The Center.
About 20 local vendors took part in the PRIDE in the Park event.
