Primary Election Day Reminders: when to go, what to bring, how to vote
LA CROSSE (WKBT) – Polls open up at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
To vote, you must have a valid ID and be registered to vote.
If you’re not registered yet, you can register at your polling location. You’ll need to bring proof of residence.
Since this is a partisan primary, there are rules about how ballots are filled out.
“On the ballot, you want to make sure you’re picking a partisan primary, that’s your democrat, republican, constitutional, libertarian,” said Ginny Dankmeyer, the clerk of La Crosse County. “Only vote within one party. If you vote in more than one party, then it’s going to be a cross-voted ballot and nothing will be counted on your ballot.”
Poll workers will be able to answer questions.
If you haven’t returned your absentee ballot, you can bring it to your polling place.
