Protesters march to Walker’s home
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) — Hundreds of protesters are marching several blocks to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s home in Wauwatosa as part of a kickoff to recall efforts.
The demonstrators gathered Tuesday afternoon, holding signs such as “Recall Walker” and “Walker: Your Pink Slip Is Coming.” Some protesters are chanting as they head toward his home, where they plan to sign petitions seeking Walker’s recall.
The rally is one of several taking place statewide. The protesters have begun a 60-day blitz to gather more than half a million signatures to force an election next year. The drive is fueled by anger over Walker’s successful push to take away nearly all public worker collective bargaining rights.
Walker told WTMJ-AM on Tuesday morning that efforts to target his home show a disregard for people’s families.
