Public comments needed following COVID-19 vaccine recommendation in Wisconsin

Public comments are open through December 18th at 4 p.m.

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – We are closer to knowing who will get the COVID-19 vaccine in group 1-B in Wisconsin.

Anyone 70 or older and essential workers that interact with the public would get the vaccine, according to a Vaccine Distribution Subcommittee’s recommendation.

Front-line workers include education and child care, non-frontline healthcare workers and congregate housing are all identified.

The Subcommittee is part of the State’s Disaster Medical Advisory Committee.

It will help the state’s Department of Health Services to allocating the vaccine.

The subcommittee is taking comments about the recommendations.

Comments can be submitted to DSHSSDMAC@dhs.wisconsin.gov with the “vaccine subcommittee” and “Phase 1B” in the subject line.

The public comment period closes on January 18th at 4 p.m.

Details about the committee’s recommendations is available here.
