Public invited to paddle the backwaters of Mississippi River

The public is invited to join Refuge Ranger Ed Lagace on a canoe trip through the backwaters of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge on Friday, September 20.

The paddle will depart from the Halfmoon Boat landing at 9 a.m . and return by noon. The boat landing is located at 12067 622nd Street, near Kellogg, Minnesota.

The refuge will provide canoes, paddles and lifejackets but you can bring your own equipment.Pre-registration is required.  You can call Refuge Ranger Ed Lagace at (507) 494-6236 or email him at ed_lagace@fws.gov.
