Public invited to presentations by finalists for La Crosse Center Art choices

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A group tasked with choosing public art for the city-owned La Crosse Center is inviting the public to attend presentations by the finalists Friday and Monday as they narrow down their selection.

Presentations will be held virtually and provide opportunities for the chosen artists to share their proposals and receive public input on their concepts and designs.

One of many public art projects in the city, the first commissioned work for the La Crosse Center will echo the concepts “evolve/enrich/explore,” according to the city of La Crosse Arts Board and La Crosse Center Board. The art selection task force for the La Crosse Center expansion sought RFQ applications from individual artists or collectives in response to these  concepts.

The meetings will be noon Friday with Stacia Goodman Mosaics of Minneapolis and noon Monday with Barbara Westfall Art Glass Design of Mount Horeb, Wis. They will be held via Lifesize.
