Rep. Paul Ryan to appear at Branstad fundraiser
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Republican Rep. Paul Ryan will give the keynote speech at a birthday fundraiser for Gov. Terry Branstad this fall.
A spokesman for Branstad’s political office confirmed the plans. Ryan, who is from Wisconsin, served as Mitt Romney’s 2012 running mate. He is often mentioned in the GOP lineup of possible 2016 presidential candidates.
The fundraiser for Republican Branstad will take place at Adventureland amusement park in Altoona on Nov. 16.
Other potential GOP presidential candidates are in Iowa this week. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will both address evangelical pastors Friday in Des Moines.
