Rep. Ron Kind pushes for legislation to support the Mississippi River
Legislation would provide support for Lock and Dam system
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Wisconsin Representative Ron Kind is discussing legislation focused on helping waterways throughout the nation.
The Water Resources Development Act would support management and monitoring the Mississippi River.
Kind says the legislation is needed because of what the river provides.
“Given the multiple purposes that the river brings from commercial navigation, tourism, outdoor recreation. This water resources development act recognizes that multiple use and also strikes the right balance in maintaining those uses,” said Wisconsin Representative Ron Kind.
The legislation also includes support for the Lock and Dam system along the Mississippi River.
