Rep. Vos subpoenaed in Wis. redistricting case
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and other officials have been subpoenaed as part of a long-running legal fight over how the state’s latest election maps were drawn.
Two groups had sued the state over the maps, which were drawn by Republicans. As part of the case the state was required to turn over certain documents, but not all were handed over in a timely manner.
A Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report says the plaintiffs now want to search the relevant computers to see whether any other documents were improperly withheld. But the groups say they’re not being told where those computers are.
So they sought subpoenas for Vos and others in hopes of finding the computers.
Vos said last week he didn’t know anything about where they were.
