Report: State trooper faces child porn charges
Torrez faces court appearance Tuesday
A 53-year-old state trooper from Cambridge faces 10 counts of felony possession of child pornography, according to a report in the Jefferson Daily Union.
Frank Richard Torrez is expected to make his initial appearance Tuesday in Jefferson County court.
According to the report in the Daily Union, Torrez was taken into custody after child porn images were found on electronic devices in his home last Friday.
The probable cause statement obtained by the paper said Torrez’s home is about a block away from Cambridge High School.
Torrez allegedly admitted to the possession of the devices and downloading the files.

If convicted, Torrez would face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines on each count, along with a surcharge of $500 for each image associated with the crime.
