Western Technical College cuts ribbon for new training center in La Crosse
Apprenticeship and Industry Training Center will help students get hands-on experience in academic setting

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A new apprenticeship center will help students at Western Technical College prepare for their future.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the Apprenticeship and Industry Training Center on Monday.
The facility opened last fall, but this ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic.
The building was renovated into a training space where students learn hands-on skills.
Those students then go on to learn while joining the workforce.
“These are jobs that the student gets to make a really good living, and then they start an apprenticeship and they make a great living as that continues on, and that’s the real win of this type of learning,” said WTC President. “It’s an earn-and-learn opportunity.”
The facility has an updated training space, renovated classrooms and a new student lounge.
