Rite-Aid plays Barry Manilow to dissuade loitering

A California Rite-Aid is trying to dissuade loiterers by cranking Barry Manilow’s music.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the San Diego neighborhood hosting the store has apparently seen a higher crime rate and an increase in homelessness. The store’s management team says customers have complained about people sleeping in their cars and lingering in the parking lot.

Although the music is meant to drive people away, some have actually enjoyed Manilow’s music. The store is contemplating alternative methods to divert stragglers.
