River Point District in La Crosse continues to see progress

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- Currently, tens of thousands of cubic yards of fill continues to be brought into the site, a process that started in June.

Project leaders say that it’s going to be a while before developers can start building any buildings or businesses, but multiple developers have planning option agreements.

Planning option agreements are a way for developers to conduct site research and make specific site plans so project leaders can begin to review those plans.

It will be well over a year before La Crosse can enjoy the new River Point District, but Project Leaders are keeping the community in mind.

“Were still holding to what the community expects from the site. and when I say that it’s the feedback the community gave us 5 or more years ago,” said Redevelopment Authority Chair, Adam Hatfield.

The new River Point District is expected to have, housing, retail, public amenities, and more.

Project leaders want the community to be patient, but to be excited.
