Road construction in La Crosse: closed roads, lane changes
Construction begins Tuesday at two locations in La Crosse.
La Crosse, Wis. (WKBT) – Starting Tuesday, a section of 2nd Street in downtown la Crosse will be temporarily closed.
That closure will affect the area between Jay and Pearl Streets, including the intersections.
The closure is because of road construction near the La Crosse Center, in addition to utility work underground.
The construction is being staged to minimize disruption in the area.
Also starting Tuesday, road maintenance will take place on George Street between Gillette and Cunningham.
Watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution when driving through the area.
If the weather allows, contractors plan to have the work completed by the end of the week.
