Rock County coroner: woman’s death heat-related
JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) — The coroner’s office in Rock County says the death of an 83-year-old woman was heat-related.
The Janesville Gazette reports that the coroner was called Thursday to the residence where the woman was found dead. Few details were available, including the woman’s identity, but Deputy Coroner Lou Smit tells the newspaper the death was “definitely heat-related.”
Smit says it was 95 degrees in the residence, and says the condition of the victim made it clear extreme heat caused her death.
Temperatures have reached and even passed 100 degrees in much of Wisconsin the last several days.
