Rug vendor tent burns in Onalaska

ONALASKA, Wis. — Fire destroys part of a tent used by a rug vendor along Highway 16 in Onalaska.

The fire was reported at around 11:45 a.m. Friday in the parking lot near the corner of Highway 16 and Theater Road.

The Onalaska Fire Department says no one was inside the tent at the time of the first. Chief Don Dominick says it took firefighters about a minute to put the flames out.

Dominick says the fire started when a space heater ignited some carpets.
