Salvation Army exceeds goal for Red Kettle Campaign
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A fundraising campaign in our area is ahead of their goal.
The Salvation Army of La Crosse’s Red Kettle Campaign ends Thursday.
The organization started their annual campaign in November with an $850,000 goal.
The money raised makes up a third of the Salvation Army of La Crosse’s annual budget.
Money will go towards the organization’s emergency shelter and meal programs.
Salvation Army staff say they are greatful for every donation.
“We were just totally excited by the fact that not only did we hit our budgeted goal, but we exceeded it by a great amount and we’re just so thankful for that because it’s just a generous community,” said Salvation Army of La Crosse Major Jeff Richardson.
Bell ringing brought in $36,000 more than last year’s campaign.
