Salvation Army hosts community dinner for unsheltered residents
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The Salvation Army offered a Thanksgiving meal for its unsheltered residents today, complete with all the holiday favorites.
Maj. Alan Hellstrom says this is an opportunity to build a feeling of family among its residents.
“You want that kind of camaraderie; you want also good food along with that fellowship, and that’s what we are offering today,” Hellstrom said.
Around 45 people gathered for the meal today to celebrate thanksgiving and each other.
