School bus vs car crash shuts down Hwy. 43 near Winona

Minnesota State Patrol: No injuries reported on the bus

A school bus crash Wednesday morning closed Highway 43 in Winona County at mile marker 37.

The Minnesota State Patrol says there were no injuries reported on the short bus, but a 7-year-old student was transported by ambulance to be checked out.

Dixie Peshon, 74, was also a passenger on the bus at the time of the crash, which happened around 7 a.m. The driver was 64-year-old Dennis Becker of Winona.

A car driven by Jeffery William, 56, of Winona, was going southbound on Highway 43 when it sideswiped the school bus, the State Patrol reported. The school bus then entered the southbound lane and hit another car driven by Kelsey Stolt, 22, of Ellendale. The car that sideswiped the bus then hit a fourth vehicle, driven by Mark Kalis, 52, with 28-year-old Jacob Kalis, according to the State Patrol.

There is no word on the condition of the drivers and passengers of the cars at this time.
