School year starts for students in La Crosse
Soft start for middle and elementary school students
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – School is back in session for kids in the School District of La Crosse.
High School students in the district were picking up tech devices and books to start out the school year.
There is a soft start for middle and elementary students as parents and students are meeting with teachers.
The effort is a way for the district to help make sure students are ready for virtual learning.
The district’s new Superintendent Aaron Engel says learning takes patience.
“Give yourself some understanding. Have some grace about what we’re all learning together. The important thing is that we remain in engaged and seeking out new ways to learn,” said School District of La Crosse Aaron Engel.
Engel says the district plans to return to in-person learning as soon as conditions allow.
