Seasonably Warm Today
Chance Of Storms After Midnight Into Saturday AM
Friday’s Forecast High: 86F / Tonight’s Low: 69F…
It was yet another pleasant summer day Thursday with highs in the mid-upper 70s to low 80s, with low humidity. It’s really been a nice week if you’re not a fan of the heat and humidity.
Today will be a touch warmer and a touch more humid as well. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with highs in the low-mid 80s. There could be a few isolated showers or sprinkles in spots this morning across northwest sections of the viewing area. Most areas will stay dry today.
Increasing clouds tonight and muggier, with lows in the mid-upper 60s. Many forecast models are showing the chance for a complex of showers and storms to race N/NW to S/SE across our area late tonight into Saturday morning. The timing would be after midnight and through mid to perhaps late morning Saturday. These storms could produce gusty winds, small hail and heavy downpours. The chance of rain may not reach the La Crosse area until after about 7 or 8 a.m. Saturday.
Once the storms move out later Saturday morning, the afternoon looks mainly dry for much of the area with highs in the mid 80s… and pretty humid too. Another chance of storms Sunday and into Sunday night. Some of these storms could also be strong with gusty winds, hail and heavy rainfall. Highs on Sunday will climb into the mid-upper 80s and some spots could flirt with 90F if enough sunshine is seen.
Looking Ahead… Chance of storms lingering into Monday morning, but much of the day will likely end up dry. Tuesday looks dry as well and less humid, with lots of sunshine. Highs to start next week will be in the low-mid 80s.
Slight chance of storms Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Highs in the mid-upper 80s for the second half of the week and more humid as well.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend, but keep an eye on the radar if you have outdoor plans. -Bill Graul
