Secretary of Labor to speak in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Secretary of Labor will be in Milwaukee to talk about President Barack Obama’s job plan.
Secretary Hilda Solis will speak at a turbine construction site at a wastewater treatment plant.
The turbines will be used to transform landfill gas into electricity to power the plant. Construction on the 19-mile-long pipeline that will transport gas from a landfill in Muskego has already started.
Solis is expected to discuss the effect of American Jobs Act on Wisconsin. Among other things, the plan would make funds available for local projects that reduce pollution and reduce the utility bills.
She’s also meeting with Latino leaders and youth and is expected to speak at a women’s conference for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
