Send-off ceremonies held for Arcadia, Melrose-Mindoro teams ahead of state tournament

Teams will compete in Green Bay starting Thursday

Some of the area’s best high school athletes are ready to go for the gold in Madison.

And local basketball fans sound ready the games.

Ahead of the WIAA Girls State Basketball Tournament, a send-off ceremony was held for the Arcadia Raiders Wednesday morning.

The Raiders will face Platteville Thursday afternoon at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

The team is excited for the challenge.

This is Arcadia’s first trip to the state semifinals since 1998.

And the Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs also on their way back to state.

Students came together for a celebration of the team Wednesday morning.

Mel-Min is looking to return to the state title game for the third straight season.

They will face Mishicot on Thursday evening.
