Senior speed dating event coming back to UW-La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — An event helping seniors make connections in our community is returning to La Crosse.
The first Senior Speed Dating event on the UW-La Crosse campus was so successful in November, they’re gearing up for a second.
The event is specifically for people 60 years and older and gives them a chance to meet new people through a series of 5-minute chats.
“There just aren’t really opportunities that are for people sixty-plus, so we decided to create one, and it seems like it’s worked really well. It’s a really fun event,” said UWL Associate Sociology Professor Dawn Norris.
The second senior speed dating event at UWL is set for Tuesday, April 30th from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. in the Student Union.
Right now, there’s a wait list for women, but organizers are trying to recruit more men to take part.
