September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month

There are also activities for small kids who are still becoming familiar with the library

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – If you are an aspiring book worm of any age, and you still need a library card, this month is your month.

The La Crosse County Library joins the American Library Association in celebrating September as National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

LCL is honoring this month with some special programs and events like Overdue Charge Amnesty.

Patrons with overdue charges incurred before March 2020 can visit any LCL location to clear their accounts and get a fresh start.

There are also activities for small kids who are still becoming familiar with the library.

“When we are open for browsing, we are initiating a new program called ‘Story Times in the Stacks’ which brings kiddos in and helps them still in a safe and socially distanced way, experience the library in a joyful way, which is one of our main goals,” said Dawn Lippman, the Youth Services Coordinator for the LCL.

Library cards may be obtained in person with proof of current address at any of the five locations in Bangor, Campbell, Holmen, Onalaska, and West Salem.

Or, by using the online option on their website at lacrossecountylibrary.org
