Severe weather sparks fire in Stoddard
STODDARD, Wis. (WKBT) — Friday evening’s severe weather caused a dangerous situation in Stoddard.
Fire departments from La Crosse, Shelby, Genoa and Stoddard responded to a house fire along State Highway 35 just after 6:00 p.m. Friday.
At least one person was still inside the home at the time and could not escape because of downed power lines in the yard. Residents did manage to exit the house before the fire took over.
Law enforcement had to direct traffic away from the scene.
There are no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
