‘Shrek the Musical’ coming to Sparta High School
SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – Young actors and theatre technicians in Sparta are getting ready to bring Shrek to the stage.
Sparta High School will present Shrek the Musical this month.
Opening night is Friday.
The show’s main characters have been practicing in their intricate costumes for weeks to get used to the process.
We caught up with the show’s director, Skyler Erickson, during the two hours it takes him to bring Shrek to life.
He says he has high expectations for his high school actors, and he’s pushing them to be the best they can be.
“My favorite part is making kids happy and teaching them the art and beauty of theatre, and how they can become something other than themselves daily and to allow them to do something they love, and also bring professionalism to it,” says Erickson.
The show runs from November 12th to the 21st.
