16th annual Sole Burner of Chaseburg event set for Saturday, Sept. 25
Over the years, leaders say the Sole Burner has raised about $1.25 million for the American Cancer Society
CHASEBURG, Wis. (WKBT) – You have the opportunity to help support people affected by cancer this weekend.
The 16th annual Sole Burner event of Chaseburg is taking place this Saturday at Chaseburg Village Park starting at 11 a.m.
People gather to help honor those affected by cancer, talk about reducing cancer risk, and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
More than 300 people have already registered for this year’s event, and everyone is invited to join.
Over the years, leaders say the Sole Burner has raised about $1.25 million for the American Cancer Society.
“There’s hope that cancer someday will be a treatable disease,” Sole Burner co-chair Linda DeGarmo said. “It isn’t going to be a death sentence. We’ve come so far with everything that’s being researched.”
Chaseburg did hold a scaled-down Sole Burner event last year, but still raised $88,000, DeGarmo said.
