Sparta farmers market opens for the season
SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – From salad to meat and cheese, the Sparta farmers market opened back up today for the first time this year.
The farmers market association president says everyone has been looking forward to this community gathering for a long time.
Despite covid making things difficult, the Sparta farmers market actually expanded its size not only to make things more distanced but to also add in more vendors.
“It is unexpectedly busy. Usually, well we’ve doubled the number of vendors we have from last year to this year so we have an amazing selection of plants, we have cut flowers, we have somebody selling meat and cheese down there,” said Farmers Market Association President David Guanky.
Gaunky also says that their goal is to provide fresh produce to all of the community and even educate people on the products that the vendors are selling.
