Sparta High School students learn about opportunities at job fair

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) — Nearly every employer is hiring.

Dozens of companies did their best to recruit Sparta High School students and other community members Wednesday.

The Sparta Chamber of Commerce, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Sparta Area School District sponsored a job fair at Sparta High School.

The event showcased local businesses and future opportunities for every grade level, organizers said.

Nearly 70 businesses participated in the job fair, said Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator Jamie Adams.

“We’re trying to help our students figure out what job is going to really make them really happy in their life and what pathway they need to take,” Adams said.

In addition to meeting with employers in person, students and community members also could attend workshops related to searching for jobs.
