…Funnel Clouds Possible Across East Central MN and West Central
WI This Eve…
Atmospheric conditions this evening will be favorable for the
development of funnel clouds. These funnels are possible with the
scattered showers that are occurring over east central Minnesota
and west central Wisconsin.
Funnel clouds that develop in these atmospheric conditions rarely
touch down as tornadoes, and are typically short-lived and weak if
they do so. If you observe funnel clouds, please contact local
law enforcement and ask that they forward your report to the
National Weather Service. Even though tornadoes rarely occur in
these situations, if you see a funnel cloud it is advisable to
remain inside a basement or sturdy structure until it moves away
from your area.
