S&S Cycle donates Strider bikes to Viroqua kindergarten class

The learner bikes come from the All Kids Bike kindergarten PE program

VIROQUA, Wis. (WKBT) – Children in a Viroqua kindergarten PE class have a new set of bikes thanks to a local business.

S&S Cycle announced their donation of 20 Strider bikes through the All Kids Bike program. The Strider 14x bikes help kids learn to ride through balance alone at first, then transitions easily to a pedal bike once they are more confident. Schools must first apply to the program, then a donor like S&S Cycle can contribute the funding, $5000, before bikes are shipped.

S&S Donates Strider Bikes Pic“S&S is located in a rural area of Wisconsin and the regional schools are relatively small,” S&S Director of Marketing Jon Montgomery said. “We’ve typically supported their sports teams and even taught engine classes at the high school, but wanted to do something that had longer term impact and that’s where the Strider balance bike program fits so well.”

The school also received helmets, pedal conversion kits and an instructor bike. Curriculum designed to keep it safe and fun for the students is included.

All Kids Bikes, with the support of companies like S&S, has over five hundred of these programs in play in all 50 states.
