State Bank Financial celebrates 160th anniversary

One of the longest running businesses in our community is celebrating an anniversary Thursday.

State Bank Financial employees came together to celebrate 160 years for the local bank.

The bank originally started in 1858 in Sparta.

Employees got the chance to donate 160 dollars to a charity of their choice as part of the celebration.

State Bank’s President calls the day a milestone.

“It feels wonderful. I always tell people in my comments, you know it’s hard to make it in business 50 years, 75 years, 100 years, so it’s a real milestone to be open for 160 years,” said Timothy Kotnour, President of State Bank Financial.

State Bank is Wisconsin’s second oldest bank.
