State Representative hosts transportation discussion in Onalaska

Rep. Doyle hears from residents, business owners

A state lawmaker from our area is getting feedback on the conditions of the state’s roads.

Onalaska Representative Steve Doyle hosted a transportation discussion this afternoon at Onalaska’s Omni Center. Local officials, business owners, and community leaders attended as well, talking about how reduced transportation funding has impacted businesses and municipalities.

Representative Doyle says the failing transportation infrastructure needs to be addressed.

“We can’t just sit back and say, ‘We’re going to throw a little bit of money at it.’ It only gets worse as time goes on. If we don’t deal with pot holes and resurfacing today, we’re going to be building whole new roads to replace in the not-to-distant future,” said Doyle.

Doyle says he will bring the concerns heard in Onalaska to the state capitol… to reinforce the need for a solution to the state’s transportation budget.
