Stevens Point man sentenced in plot to kill wife
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) — A Stevens Point man accused of plotting to kill his estranged wife and bury her body was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison Tuesday.
Fifty-one-year-old Rocky Neuman was charged with conspiring to commit first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse, as well as stalking. Prosecutors say Neuman talked to his roommate about strangling his wife and helping him bury her body. Neuman was arrested after his roommate recorded a conversation about the plan.
Neuman reached a plea deal and pleaded no contest to conspiring to hide a corpse. The two other charges were dismissed, but read in at sentencing.
WSAW-TV reports Neuman will receive 406 days credit for time already spent in jail.
