Stolen margarine truck found in Michigan
ELK RUN HEIGHTS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say they have found a stolen semitrailer that had been loaded with margarine, but the margarine is missing.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the trailer was found last Thursday in a parking lot more than 500 miles away in Fowler, Mich. The trailer was stolen Dec. 10 from a truck stop in Elks Run, near Waterloo. The margarine, valued at about $50,000, had been bound for a Target warehouse in Cedar Falls.
Officials with the Black Hawk County sheriff’s office say the person who stole the trailer remains at large.
Officials say the driver of the truck left the trailer at the truck stop until the warehouse had space. Another truck was to have picked up the trailer to take it to the warehouse but discovered it missing.
