Students at Viterbo University help families trick-or-treat safely
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- One La Crosse college wants to make sure kids in the community can safely trick-or-treat.
The Viterbo University Education Club is hosting the event at the Assisi Courtyard for kids to come and play games and collect treats.
The annual event has been going on for 15 years and started out as a small event, but grew into something the whole community can enjoy.
It’s an event that normally takes place indoors, but because of the pandemic, organizers took the event outside.
“It’s an event for the La Crosse community to just come to celebrate Halloween in a safe environment and our education club puts it on every year. This is the first time we’ve had it in a couple of years because of COVID. Usually, it is inside but this year it’s outside and it gives us more room which is nice,” said Education Club Co-President, Mackenzie O’Neill.
The entire event is run by students who volunteer to dress up and help make the event a fun time for the kids and families.
