Students in Crucifixion School in La Crescent prepare, serve Thankgiving meal

Some young students in our area are celebrating Thanksgiving early.

Preschool and kindergarten students at Crucifixion School in La Crescent held make and serve food for a thanksgiving feast to family members Friday afternoon.

The kids also performed a ‘turkey trot’ dance as part of the meal.

Teachers hope the event reminds the kids that family members play a roll in kids life at school.

The meal is a chance for kids to learn about the importance of kindness.

“The pilgrims didn’t get mad when the Indians ate some corn, they just be nice,” said Crucifixion School kindergartner Betsy Kramer.

About 150 family members were in attendance.
