Viterbo University hosts a career exploration event for about 80 students

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Local students are exploring career opportunities right in their own backyard.

Viterbo University in La Crosse hosted a career exploration event on campus Wednesday.

High school students learned about local jobs in psychology, counseling, community and criminal justice, and social work.

“We know that there is great demand currently, especially for people wanting to work in mental health, or substance abuse or in these different human behavior specialties,” said Liza Ware, a faculty member in the Viterbo Psychology Department.

About 80 students from 10 high schools took part.
