Students prepare for FIRST LEGO League state tournament in Minnesota.

State tournament is Saturday in St. Paul

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A local team of students is proving they are of Minnesota best, brick by brick.

The FIRST LEGO League team at Crucifixion School in La Crescent qualified for the state tournament.

The school is one of 48 teams from across Minnesota to reach the state competition.

Kids were at the school Thursday afternoon practicing for this weekend’s tournament in Saint Paul.

Competition throughout the season has set up the team for success.

“Getting to state, it’s been some what tricky to make sure that we make sure that we have everything, but it’s also mainly been review and building,” said team member Diana Van Atta.

If the team finishes well they would advance to the FIRST LEGO League’s World Festival in the spring.
