Sunday crash kills teen driver and injures passenger near Bangor
BANGOR, Wis. (WKBT) — The 17-year-old driver was killed and her passenger was injured Sunday in a crash on Interstate 90 near Bangor, the Wisconsin State Patrol said Tuesday.
Authorities responded to a single-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report that a vehicle rolled over into oncoming traffic on I-90, according to the state patrol.
The vehicle — a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II — had landed on its roof. The passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was able to get out of the vehicle and experienced minor injuries.
Emergency services personnel were able to get the driver, a 17-year-old girl, out of the vehicle; however, she died of her injuries at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse.
Police say the two teens were from Northfield, Minn.; however, their names will not be released due to their ages.
