Superheroes may be closer than you think on Superhero Saturday
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Valley View Mall hosted La Crosse’s first Superhero Saturday. Mayor Tim Kabat was even there to make it an official holiday.
Kids could take part in ‘super’ activities like designing their own superhero mask and eating from a Power Snack Station.
Special guests were dressed up as heroes like Mrs. Incredible, Bat Girl and even ‘Mini-Spider-Man’.
The event also celebrated superheroes that don’t always wear masks or capes. Valley View Mall marketing director Laurie Cafe said, “Our parents — our moms, our dads — our grandparents, our aunts and uncles are superheroes to us… our teachers, our librarians, our nurses our doctors, things like that.”
The event was free and open to the public. Those who wanted to be ‘extra’ heroic were invited to make a donation to the Freedom Honor Flight.
